House Spirit

James Cook's House Spirit system is an opportunity to connect and unite our entire school community. Students and teachers are placed into a House when their begin at James Cook. These Houses are Waratah, Correa, Bluegum, Acacia.


The House Spirit Systems aims to:

  • supports students by creating a community within a community
  • provides opportunities for closer relationships to other students in the same house, both in lower and upper primary
  • creates comradery and links to our key values of Respect, Teamwork, Inclusiveness, Resilience, Persistence
  • provides leadership opportunities through the roles on House Captains in Year 6

Students proudly wear their House colours to carnivals and encourage teammates competing for thier House. House teachers also actively engage with the students and encourage them to participate in House activities.
